New Farm Equipment!

Updated: May 4

Hello dear friends and collaborators,

Here is a quick update on the latest developments happening over at the distillery!

Marketing

We will be collaborating with Jean-Étienne Sheehy, a marketing specialist who will help us with our social media and blog. He will also collaborate on content for our YouTube channel and transform our video snippets into content accessible via search engines!

Agriculture

We have finished plowing all of our lands! Gautier is now taking care of liming, a necessary process to adjust the soil's pH.

By September 10, we plan to sow our green manure—buckwheat—and then this fall, rye, over 20 hectares.

Our collection of equipment just keeps growing! We have our first combine, which just arrived from Quebec City this afternoon!

We also have two swathers. These pieces of equipment, which arrived straight from Saskatchewan, will allow us to cut the barley and rye and leave it to dry in the fields in case the season runs too long.

It has to be said that the modern alternative is to spray the grains with the herbicide Roundup to kill them on the spot. That's not very organic...

A huge thank you to Mr. George, who helped us unload our new machinery!

And last but not least, our Mécalac 6MCR mechanical excavator, which will serve as an excavator for earthworks, and later, as a lift for barrels and alcohol containers moving between the distillery, the warehouse, and the rickhouse.

Distillery

We are getting closer to the final design of our distillation equipment.

Buildings

We are going to position the silos and the silage equipment on the east side of Route 243, on the spot currently occupied by Mr. George's old shed.

This fall, we want to trace the path for the road leading to the distillery and build a shed at the back of the property to keep the farm machinery sheltered from nature's whims.
