A Continuous Still?

Updated: May 4

Summer is right around the corner for the distillery; however, we certainly haven't been idle over the past few weeks!

On the marketing front, we have chosen the firm ByHaus to handle the brand design, or if you prefer, the branding, for the distillery. I invite you to check out their portfolio on their website.

Thank you, Mélanie, for the recommendation!

Regarding our agricultural projects, we are awaiting the return of Gautier, our farm manager, on June 11! Once he is back from Saskatchewan, we will take delivery of the tractor and the other pieces of equipment we purchased. Basically, this means that starting June 15, Gautier will be able to begin preparing the fields!

We also found a used 2018 Macalac 6MCR mechanical excavator. We should receive it in July, which means we will be able to do the field drainage work ourselves over the summer.

Jonathan from Écomestible will visit us on June 17 with Gautier and JF, our master distiller, to plan the planting of edible fruit bushes for making our whisky.

As for the distillery, two weeks ago, the Minister of Economy, Pierre Fitzgibbon, stated in the media that he is in favor of easing taxes for distillers who produce their own neutral alcohol—which is the main ingredient for making gin and spirits—to curb the purchasing of neutral alcohol from Ontario.

This caught our attention. We are therefore studying the possibility of purchasing a continuous neutral alcohol production system in addition to our current equipment.

Have a great week, everyone!

-Martin
